DoS is our annual conference catered specifically to young South-Asian girls and their parents who have an interest in STEMM-related studies. It provides a platform for South-Asian female students, aged 7 years and above, and their parents to engage in STEMM-related activities that address real-world problems. The conference serves as a hub for these young minds to interact with and get inspired by other successful girls and women in STEMM fields. By participating in DoS, attendees can immerse themselves in a transformative experience, fostering knowledge, growth, and endless possibilities.

Diya Kaila
Diya Kalia is dedicated to empowering the next generation of girls in STEM through her award-winning activism as a CAGIS Teen Ambassador, Girl Up Oakville Executive, and Co-Founder of Sparkkit. She has championed this cause globally, speaking at events such as the UN's Commission on the Status of Women 67 and the Girl Up Global Leadership Summit.

Intern at Space Tech Company | Kidpreuner | Student
Bhavishyaa Vignesh
Bhavishyaa is a 12 y/o elementary school student, passionate about anything to everything about space/related technologies and artificial intelligence. She is an intern at a Remote Sensing Company called Skyserve. She is also a KidPreuner, who runs a tech camp every school break to around 200+ kids around the world. Bhavishyaa has won several STEM challenges and also a grand prize winner of the Canadian Space Agency's BrainHack challenge, Top 8 in the First Lego League in First Robotics Challenge Provincials, and many more.

Ravneet Mahi
I am driven by a passion for learning in Computer Science and Physics, as well as a genuine interest in space science. Currently in my third year at Wilfrid Laurier University, I am pursuing a dual major in CS and Physics, a combination that has laid a strong foundation in both scientific principles and computational techniques. My journey has been shaped by a deep fascination with space science. Therefore, I am actively engaged in an asteroid search campaign.
Being an international woman originating from South Asia, my voyage in the world of STEM education has been a blend of challenges and achievements, often without a clear roadmap and limited guidance. Having learned and grown along the way, I have devoted myself to volunteer work, offering guidance and support to young girls in STEMM.

Shifa Hussain is a 15 year-old entrepreneur and innovator who has collaborated with industry leaders, and undertaken innovative projects in space tech, with a mission to create inclusive solutions that impact the world. Through every stride, her aspiration remains strong: to be a beacon of hope for a brighter future, guiding positive change for generations ahead.

Prerana Manoj
Prerana Manoj is a 16-year-old innovator and entrepreneur. She is passionate about bridging gaps within healthcare, education and sustainability with the power of artificial intelligence. In 2021, Prerana pitched her social enterprise start-up on Dragons Den and was offered a $25K shared investment. She is also a co-developer @Project HeartScope, and Human-Computer Interactions Research Intern @Ontario Tech, where she explores the role of emotions in online learning environments.
Our Impact
Lotus STEMM's annual conferences in the past have made a significant impact on the community, empowering students and fostering their passion for STEMM. Through hands-on activities, engaging presentations, and dynamic guest speakers, we have provided invaluable experiences to hundreds of students from diverse backgrounds.
Students Reached: Over the years, our conferences have reached hundreds of young girls, igniting their interest in STEMM subjects and encouraging them to pursue careers in these fields. By providing opportunities for exploration and growth, we are fostering a generation of scientifically curious minds.
Families Engaged: Our conferences have not only impacted the students but also their families. By involving family members in the learning process, we create a supportive environment that nurtures the students' passion for STEMM.
Community Impact: As an organization focused on the South Asian community, our conferences go beyond impacting students and their families. We also support and empower volunteers, organizers, planning committee members, educators, and speakers. By providing them with a platform to enhance their leadership skills and connect with like-minded individuals, we contribute to the growth of the STEMM community as a whole.
